Ken Ortega

Instructor

Ken Ortega is the Co-Owner of Homeland Personal Protection (HPP) and the Lead Instructor based in Las Vegas, NV. As a full-time firearms instructor with over a decade of experience, Ken is a highly respected Defensive Firearms Coach and a Certified Intuitive Defensive Shooting Instructor through I.C.E. Training.

As an instructor featured on the Personal Defense Network (PDN) Training Tour, Ken has been teaching and evolving the Intuitive Defensive Shooting program for more than ten years. Through HPP Training, he offers a wide range of courses, including:

• Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) training
• NRA & USCCA-certified courses
• Defensive Firearms Coaching (DFC) powered by Combat Focus Shooting (CFS)
• Intuitive Defensive Shooting (IDS) programs — his primary area of focus

Ken has successfully trained thousands of students, guiding new shooters through foundational courses while also mentoring and developing new instructors to strengthen the HPP Training Program.

In addition to his role as an instructor, Ken has served as a Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s Pro Staff Member for the past eight years, where he conducts educational seminars and training sessions on firearms, ammunition, and personal defense.

Beyond teaching, Ken is deeply passionate about hunting as part of America’s heritage and integrates that enthusiasm into his work, fostering a deeper appreciation for responsible gun ownership and self-reliance.
